2006-01-05 [Rhammin]: okay, i am going to try and lay it out in a simple way to understand so youcan at least not say that you don't like the games, just prefer not to play them. here goes. first person shooters, like call of duty and medal of honor, are games designed to envelope the player in a world of war not hatred, the idea is not for you to kill the other person/persons, the idea is to complete your objectives, every objective known to man has obstacles to try and prevent you from succeeding, just like both world wars, the enemy is the obstacle, you also must understand, that the games are not encouraging a feeling of hate towards your enemy(i'll continue in the next post)

2006-01-05 [Rhammin]: it is to help you gain an understanding of what war is, how horrible yet neccessary for life to continue. with out war this world would be more screwed up than it is now, theses games (even games like Bond and Halo) help one to understand what it takes to keep order and peace. i hope you understand that. you may not play them, but i hope that now you can say tat you simply prefer not to play them instead of saying that you don't like them.

2006-01-05 [Rhammin]: that's somthing you're mistaken about, for example, you said that in the Call of Duty game that your friend has the objective is to kill the general and company, what you fail to realize is that it is not the soldiers desicion to kill the general and company, it is their assignment, they have no control over that, and another thing, there are plenty of games out there, like Battle Field 1942, youcan play on either side, Axis or Allies, completing missions for which ever side/team the person prefers, and the games are not made to seem biased, they are made to recreate past histoical events. They are not saying that either side is greater, they are recreating the past.
